2013 Golf Tournament

It was a great day at Woodington Lakes Golf Club on Sunday, for the 5th Annual O.P.C.A. Tournament.  Thanks go out to Brian Mooring and his Family, and all the volunteers for another fantastic tournament.  Thanks to the staff of Woodington Lakes Golf Club as well!

Special thanks to the one, and the only,  Eddie “The Entertainer” SHACK.  For those of you who are too young, Eddie started his NHL career in 1959 with the New York Rangers and was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1961.  With the Leafs, Eddie won 4 Stanley Cups (1962, 1963, 1964 and 1967) and was named to the NHL All-Star Team 3 times (1962, 1963 and 1964).  He was traded to the Boston Bruins after the ’67 season, then spent time in Los Angeles, Buffalo and Pittsburg before he was traded back to the Leafs in ’74.  Injuries took their toll on Eddie and he ended his career as a Leaf and retired after the 1975 season.  Eddie is one of two players (he was the first) to score twenty or more goals in a season for five or more NHL teams.

Eddie “Clear the track, here comes Shack” entertained the crowd with some lively stories from his career then he led a “Live” Auction, auctioning off two official NHL signed jerseys.  One jersey was a “SHACK” and the second was a “HOWE”.

The winners on the day were, The TOURETTE’S FOUNDATION OF CANADA, TEAM ALLAN, and all those who participated.
